Week 3 in numbers: Gibbs, seven upsets and 19 points left on the bench

Jahmyr Gibbs had the week's best line at 41.4 PPR points, three touchdowns in a 31 to 24 win over the Jets, and three other players led their positions: Brock Purdy at quarterback with 31.3, Jaxon Smith-Njigba at receiver with 35.4 and Brock Bowers at tight end with 27.6 in his season debut.

The betting market had a harder week than the players. Seven of the sixteen games were won outright by the team the closing moneyline made the underdog, Washington beat Seattle as a 320 underdog, and Arizona and San Francisco finished 17.5 points over their total. Across 318 teams in 23 leagues synced to FF Beacon, managers left 19.8 points a team on the bench, and 41 of them lost a game their own bench would have won. The costliest single call was Brock Bowers on a bench behind Kyle Pitts.

Game by game: every final, the line it beat, and who scored

Each card below is one game: the final, the line it was played under and whether the favourite covered, the score the line implied against the score that happened, the best fantasy lines on both sides graded against the Sleeper projection, and whose value moved. Seven underdogs won outright, two games landed exactly on the spread, and the totals split evenly, eight over and eight under.

Three reports sit behind the cards: Derrick Henry passing Marcus Allen on the career rushing touchdown list, Brock Purdy's 93.7 QBR through three games, and Jalen Hurts cleared after a concussion evaluation.

PPR points from the week's box scores. Projected is the Sleeper projection published for week 3, before any FF Beacon adjustment. Value moves are Dynasty PPR SF on FF Beacon and Redraft 1QB PPR on FF Beacon, from the last value on or before 2026-09-22 to the last on or before 2026-09-29.

Computed . Finals are derived from the two team-defense stat lines of each game. Lines are the closing numbers DraftKings posted, as ESPN reports them; the implied team totals are the closing total split by the closing spread.

Week 3, part 3 of 6

How the projections did: a coin flip, and low at tight end

The Sleeper projection was close to a coin flip in week 3: 144 of 282 graded players beat it, 51 percent, and the average miss was 4.9 PPR points. It ran low at tight end, where 65 percent of graded players beat it and the average tight end outscored his projection by 2.2 points, and slightly high at running back, the only position where fewer than half beat it.

The season lists are the part to use. A player who beats his projection every week is one the number keeps underrating, and one who falls short every week is one it keeps overrating; both are worth a second look before you set a lineup on the projection alone.

How the Sleeper projection did in week 3

Close to a coin flip overall at 51 percent, and low at tight end, where 65 percent of graded players beat it.

  • QB50% beat it, 16 of 32; average miss 5.9 points; lean +1.6
  • RB42% beat it, 32 of 77; average miss 4.5 points; lean -0.7
  • WR50% beat it, 57 of 113; average miss 4.8 points; lean +1.4
  • TE65% beat it, 39 of 60; average miss 5.1 points; lean +2.2
  • All51% beat it, 144 of 282; average miss 4.9 points; lean +1, all four positions

The line in each bar is 50 percent. Lean is actual minus projected on average: above zero means the projection ran low.

Season: beat it most reliably

  1. Jaxon Smith-NjigbaWR SEA: beat it in 3 of 3 games, +14.3 a game against 20.4 projected
  2. Kenneth WalkerRB KC: beat it in 3 of 3 games, +9.4 a game against 17 projected
  3. Mike GesickiTE CIN: beat it in 2 of 2 games, +9.2 a game against 6.5 projected
  4. Derrick HenryRB BAL: beat it in 3 of 3 games, +8.5 a game against 16.5 projected
  5. Brock PurdyQB SF: beat it in 3 of 3 games, +7.3 a game against 20 projected

Season: furthest below it

  1. Kyler MurrayQB MIN: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -11.7 a game against 17.8 projected
  2. Drake MayeQB NE: beat it in 0 of 3 games, -9.8 a game against 19 projected
  3. Saquon BarkleyRB PHI: beat it in 0 of 3 games, -9.3 a game against 16.3 projected
  4. De'Von AchaneRB MIA: beat it in 0 of 3 games, -8.4 a game against 16.6 projected
  5. Kyle PittsTE ATL: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -7.1 a game against 9.1 projected

Computed . Graded against the Sleeper projection published for each week, in PPR, before any FF Beacon adjustment. A graded game is one where a projection above zero was published and the player took the field. Mean error is actual minus projected: above zero means the projection ran low. Season lists need 2 graded games; the reliable list counts players projected for 6 or more a game and the laggard list 8 or more.

Week 3, part 6 of 6

What to do this week: claims, holds, buys and sells

Every call is tied to a report above and to a number on the site; the cards below link each one to the tool that runs it.

  • Claim Ollie Gordon everywhere: 14.5 PPR points on 17 carries and an 84 percent snap share the day he took over. Run the bid through the FAAB calculator.
  • Claim Michael Penix in superflex: a redraft value up 1,335 and a 14.7-point projection against New Orleans.
  • Claim Case Keenum in superflex leagues that roster Caleb Williams, and drop him the week Williams practises in full.
  • Start Jaylen Warren while Dowdle is out; compare him with your flex in Who Should I Start.
  • Hold Jefferson, Nacua and Caleb Williams everywhere; hold Dart and Achane in dynasty and move them to injured reserve slots in redraft.
  • Buy Dart in dynasty superflex if you can wait: the market charged 1,393 in dynasty and 121 in redraft, which prices this season, not the player. Check the offer in the trade calculator.
  • Sell Baker Mayfield in one-quarterback redraft and Travis Etienne in redraft if a contender needs a back now.

This week's calls, each with the tool that runs it

One every-league claim, three superflex quarterback claims, two starts, two holds and one sell.

Computed . Risers over the seven days to 2026-09-29 on FF Beacon, Redraft 1QB PPR, ranked outside the top 108 (a 12-team, 9-starter league's weekly starters), excluding players on the injury timeline. The bid range is the FF Beacon FAAB calculator at its default league shape (12 teams, 9 starters, medium need, 100 budget) as a percent of remaining budget; it is not a league-specific figure and no waiver add-rate data is used. Week 3, questions people ask

Questions people ask

Is De'Von Achane out for the season?

Yes. He tore his ACL in the 24 to 10 loss to Kansas City on September 27 and the Dolphins placed him on injured reserve on September 28. His Dynasty PPR SF value fell 542 to 5,561 and his Redraft 1QB PPR value fell 468 to 6,580. Ollie Gordon, who scored 14.5 PPR points after taking over, is the waiver claim.

How long is Caleb Williams out?

He has a grade 2 hamstring strain that doctors consider a three-to-four-week injury, reported on September 27. Case Keenum started Monday night, scored 24.5 PPR points in a 27 to 7 win over the Eagles, and is expected to stay the starter until Williams returns. Williams is still 15th overall in Dynasty PPR SF at 7,548.

Who is the Giants quarterback after Jaxson Dart's injury?

Jameis Winston. Dart had knee surgery on September 25 and is out for the regular season. The Giants traded a 2027 fifth-round pick to Minnesota for J.J. McCarthy on September 28, but John Harbaugh says Winston remains the starter. The model projects Winston for 16.0 points against Arizona in week 4.
