Week 2, part 1 of 6

Week 2 in numbers: Smith-Njigba, five upsets and 20 points left on the bench

Jaxon Smith-Njigba had the week's best line, 42.5 PPR points on three touchdowns in a 31 to 7 win at Arizona, and three other players led their positions: Josh Allen at quarterback with 40.8, Jonathan Taylor at running back with 29.2 and Dalton Schultz at tight end with 26.0, on 12 catches. Davante Adams was second among receivers at 39.5 and beat his projection by 27.4, more than anyone else.

Five of the sixteen games were won by the team the closing moneyline made the underdog, and Cleveland's win at Tampa Bay as a 330 underdog was the biggest of them. Buffalo and Detroit combined for 72 points; Minnesota and Chicago managed 12 without a touchdown. Across 672 teams in 51 leagues synced to FF Beacon, managers left 20.4 points a team on the bench, and 91 of them lost a game their own bench would have won. The costliest single call was Matthew Stafford on a bench behind Jaxson Dart, who left the Monday game after five throws.

Game by game: every final, the line it beat, and who scored

Each card below is one game: the final, the line it was played under and whether the favourite covered, the score the line implied against the score that happened, the best fantasy lines on both sides graded against the Sleeper projection, and whose value moved. Five underdogs won outright, eight covered, and ten of the sixteen games stayed under the total. Two went to overtime: Green Bay won at the Jets on a field goal, and Kansas City beat Indianapolis on one as time ran out.

Two reports sit behind the cards: Travis Kelce tying Rob Gronkowski with his 27th game of 100 yards and a touchdown, and Smith-Njigba becoming one of five receivers ever with eight catches, 120 yards and a score in each of his team's first two games.

The Rams played without Puka Nacua and did not need him. Matthew Stafford threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns, two to Davante Adams, who caught 8 of 10 targets for 195 yards. Kyren Williams caught another of them and ran for 85 yards, and tight end Terrance Ferguson scored the last.

Davante Adams was projected for 12.1 points and scored 39.5, the biggest beat of the projection this week, on 195 receiving yards, also the most of the week.

Week 2, part 3 of 6

How the projections did: low on running backs, and under half overall

Fewer than half of graded players beat the Sleeper projection in week 2: 124 of 283, 44 percent, with an average miss of 4.6 PPR points. Running backs were the worst of it. Only 28 of 80 beat their number, 35 percent, and the average back finished 1.2 points under it. Tight ends were the one position where more than half beat it, 30 of 55. Quarterbacks came out close to even on average, and still missed by 7.5 points a game in one direction or the other, the widest of any position.

Two weeks in, the season lists are short and already say something. Josh Allen, Kenneth Walker and Amon-Ra St. Brown have beaten the projection in both games, by 17.5, 13.6 and 13.1 points a game. Saquon Barkley and Drake Maye have missed it in both. Neither list is a reason to bench anyone yet; both are worth a look before you set a lineup on the projection alone.

How the Sleeper projection did in week 2

Under half beat it overall at 44 percent, and only 35 percent of graded running backs did.

  • QB41% beat it, 13 of 32; average miss 7.5 points; lean -0.2
  • RB35% beat it, 28 of 80; average miss 3.7 points; lean -1.2
  • WR46% beat it, 53 of 116; average miss 4.7 points; lean +0.7
  • TE55% beat it, 30 of 55; average miss 4 points; lean +1.1
  • All44% beat it, 124 of 283; average miss 4.6 points; lean +0.2, all four positions

The line in each bar is 50 percent. Lean is actual minus projected on average: above zero means the projection ran low.

Season: beat it most reliably

  1. Josh AllenQB BUF: beat it in 2 of 2 games, +17.5 a game against 20.7 projected
  2. Jaxon Smith-NjigbaWR SEA: beat it in 2 of 2 games, +14.7 a game against 19.6 projected

  5. Jalen CokerWR CAR: beat it in 2 of 2 games, +11.8 a game against 12.4 projected

Season: furthest below it

  1. Saquon BarkleyRB PHI: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -10.5 a game against 16.5 projected
  2. Jayden ReedWR GB: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -8.6 a game against 11.8 projected
  3. Drake MayeQB NE: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -8.4 a game against 19.3 projected
  4. J.K. DobbinsRB DEN: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -7.9 a game against 11.5 projected
  5. Terry McLaurinWR WAS: beat it in 0 of 2 games, -7.8 a game against 13 projected

Computed . Graded against the Sleeper projection published for each week, in PPR, before any FF Beacon adjustment. A graded game is one where a projection above zero was published and the player took the field. Mean error is actual minus projected: above zero means the projection ran low. Season lists need 2 graded games; the reliable list counts players projected for 6 or more a game and the laggard list 8 or more.

Week 2, part 6 of 6

What to do this week: quarterback claims, two starts and the holds

Most of this week's claims are quarterbacks, because most of this week's injuries were. Run every bid through the FAAB calculator with your own roster before you place it.

  • Claim Michael Penix first in superflex: Atlanta handed him the job back, and he won his first start 35 to 14.
  • Claim Marcus Mariota in superflex while Daniels is out; his Dynasty PPR SF value rose 564 to 711 by the close of the week.
  • Claim Jameis Winston in superflex and keep him: with Dart out for the regular season, his starts are the longest-lasting of the three. His dynasty value rose 343.
  • Claim Dalton Schultz while Nico Collins is out: 12 catches on 14 targets, with a suggested bid of 11 to 20 percent of budget.
  • Adonai Mitchell rose 1,208 in Redraft 1QB PPR, the most of any waiver candidate, on 12 targets; a bench add at 3 to 6 percent.
  • Start TreVeyon Henderson in both formats, and compare your flex in Who Should I Start.
  • Hold Daniels, Caleb Williams, Nacua, Collins, Flowers and Bowers: each is a short absence on current information.
  • Drop Carson Wentz everywhere and Keenan Allen in redraft. Check any sale in the trade calculator first.

This week's calls, each with the tool that runs it

Four claims, three of them superflex quarterbacks, one running back to start and three holds.

Risers over the seven days to 2026-09-22 on FF Beacon, Redraft 1QB PPR, ranked outside the top 108 (a 12-team, 9-starter league's weekly starters), excluding players on the injury timeline. The bid range is the FF Beacon FAAB calculator at its default league shape (12 teams, 9 starters, medium need, 100 budget) as a percent of remaining budget; it is not a league-specific figure and no waiver add-rate data is used. Week 2, questions people ask

Questions people ask

How long is Jaxson Dart out?

The rest of the 2026 regular season. The Giants said so on September 24, after this week closed, and placed him on injured reserve the same day. Jameis Winston starts in his place.

Is Jayden Daniels going on injured reserve?

No. As of September 26, ESPN reports that Washington will not place him on reserve and considers him week to week after he dislocated his left elbow, with x-rays showing no fracture. Marcus Mariota starts while he is out.

Who is the Bears quarterback in week 3?

Not Caleb Williams, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and is week to week. Tyson Bagent is questionable after clearing concussion protocol, and Case Keenum is the other option for the Monday night game against Philadelphia.
