Stefon Diggs signing with Washington Commanders on one-year deal

Stefon Diggs (WR, Washington Commanders) is set to sign a one-year contract worth up to $12 million, per Adam Schefter and Jordan Schultz. The deal fills Washington's biggest remaining offseason need.

Diggs, 32, comes off a 2025 season with the New England Patriots where he caught 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns across all 17 games. He ranked 10th among qualified receivers in PFF receiving grade (82.6) and yards per route run (2.08), with a drop rate of just 2.9%. The Patriots released him after their Super Bowl LX loss, saving $16.8 million.

What this means for the Commanders' offense

Washington needed a legitimate WR2 opposite Terry McLaurin (WR, Washington Commanders) for quarterback Jayden Daniels. The team had moved on from Deebo Samuel and added only Antonio Williams in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft before this signing. Diggs solves that problem directly.

For redraft leagues, Diggs is a mid-range WR2 or high-end WR3 depending on how Washington uses him. In PPR formats, his route-running efficiency and low drop rate make him a reliable floor play. Dynasty managers should factor in his age (32) and the one-year deal before investing heavily.
