Bijan Robinson contract extension makes him the highest-paid RB ever
Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta Falcons, has agreed to a three-year extension worth up to $75 million, including $51 million in guaranteed money and $37 million at signing. His $22.25 million average annual value puts him above Saquon Barkley's $20.6 million per year and sets a new record for running back contracts.
Robinson had been holding in since the first day of Falcons training camp last week. The Falcons officially announced the deal Wednesday. He is now under contract through 2030.
Matthew McConaughey, who has been a mentor to Robinson since his Texas days, texted Robinson as soon as the contract news broke. The Falcons posted a video of the exchange, which Adam Schefter reshared on X.
What this means for fantasy
Robinson posted 2,298 total yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025, earning first-team All-Pro honors. He has 34 total touchdowns in 51 career games. The extension removes any remaining holdout or short-term uncertainty from his profile.
The Falcons have also extended WR Drake London (four-year, $141 million), TE Kyle Pitts (three-year, $54 million), and G Matthew Bergeron (four-year, $96 million). Atlanta is keeping its core offensive pieces together, which supports Robinson's workload and target opportunities going forward.
In redraft and dynasty formats, Robinson is a locked-in RB1 with no depth chart competition and a full supporting cast around him. Treat him accordingly.
