The New England Patriots have traded OL Caedan Wallace to the Miami Dolphins, sending Wallace and a 2029 seventh-round pick to Miami in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round pick. The trade is pending Wallace passing a physical, per multiple reports.
Wallace, a guard, was a 2024 third-round pick (No. 68 overall) out of Penn State. He played in 10 games across two seasons in New England with two starts, both at left tackle. In 2025, he appeared in four games and logged just eight snaps after moving from tackle to guard.
Prior to the trade, NFL insider Jordan Schultz had reported the Patriots planned to waive Wallace outright. New England reversed course and found a trade partner instead, netting a sixth-round pick in the process. The roster spot freed up by the move was used to re-sign long snapper Niko Lalos.
Does this move affect any fantasy lineup?
Wallace has not been a starter and was not on the depth chart in any meaningful way heading into this trade. He does not change the fantasy outlook for any Miami or New England skill-position player. This is a depth swap between division rivals with draft capital attached.
