Maxx Crosby trade outlook heading into 2026
Maxx Crosby, DE for the Las Vegas Raiders, says he is "all in" and wants to be a "Raider for life." Adam Schefter, speaking on his podcast with co-host Ty Schmit, says he agrees with that outcome, for now.
Schefter's exact framing: "I see him staying in Vegas, helping this team and being a Raider for life." But he added that if the Raiders are having another dismal season, "that's when we could start hearing Maxx Crosby's name again" as the November trade deadline approaches.
So the path is simple. Good Raiders season, Crosby stays. Bad Raiders season, the trade conversation reopens.
What happened with the Baltimore deal
The Raiders did trade Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks in March 2026. That deal was called off. After it fell through, Crosby sent a message to Raider Nation Radio describing himself as "meant to be a Raider" through his core, calling it "another chapter to the story."
Schefter noted that other contenders may not be positioned to absorb Crosby right now, which is part of why a summer trade looks unlikely. His words: "Maybe I'm going to be surprised and they trade in the summer, but that's not what I'm expecting. It's not what I'm hearing."
Why the Raiders context matters for fantasy
Crosby, 28, signed a three-year extension worth $106.5 million in March 2025, keeping him under contract through 2029. He has four straight Pro Bowl selections.
For redraft, he is not a typical starter unless your league scores IDP. For IDP and dynasty managers, his value depends heavily on whether he stays in Las Vegas or lands with a contender. A trade to a team like Baltimore would have dramatically changed his sack and pressure volume.
The Raiders offseason additions worth noting: center Tyler Linderbaum, linebacker Nakobe Dean, and the expected No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, alongside Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty already on the roster. Schefter cited those moves as a reason Crosby might genuinely want to stay.
One separate note from Raiders reporters: there is interest around Crosby's knee health, and that variable could affect any trade value calculation if a deal does resurface in the fall.
What to watch
If you roster Crosby in a dynasty or IDP league, the early part of the 2026 regular season is your indicator. A 2-5 or 3-4 start in Las Vegas brings the trade deadline back into play. A competitive Raiders team makes the "Raider for life" framing far more durable.
