Darnell Wright signs 4-year, $116M Bears extension

Darnell Wright, the All-Pro right tackle for the Chicago Bears, has agreed to a 4-year, $116M extension with $93M guaranteed, per Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport. Agents at Octagon Football handled the deal. Wright's roughly $29M average annual value puts him among the highest-paid offensive tackles in the NFL.

Wright was a 10th-overall pick in the 2023 draft. He has started 49 games across three seasons, logging nearly 3,400 snaps with elite availability. He earned a second-team All-Pro selection after the 2025 season. His 2025 PFF grades: 81.4 overall, 85.6 in run blocking (6th among all tackles), and a 0.3% sack rate allowed, third-lowest at the position.

What this means for Bears fantasy players

Wright himself has no fantasy value, but the Bears ranked third in rushing offense in 2025, and a lot of that runs through his side of the line. Keeping him in place through at least 2029 is a concrete positive for D'Andre Swift (RB), QB Caleb Williams, and receivers like Rome Odunze who benefit from an offense that can run the ball and protect.

The Bears had already picked up Wright's fifth-year option for 2027 at around $19M. This extension folds that in and locks up the right side of the line long-term rather than paying him on a one-year basis.

For fantasy purposes, the Bears' OL situation just got more stable. If you're rostering Williams or Swift in dynasty, this is the kind of infrastructure news that matters.
