The Denver Broncos have re-signed veteran safety Taylor Rapp to their practice squad, according to Adam Schefter and Mike Klis.
Rapp, 28, originally signed with Denver on Aug. 20 but was released on Aug. 26 to deal with a personal situation at home. Head coach Sean Payton confirmed at the time that Rapp needed time away for a personal issue. He returned to the facility for a tryout and is now back on the roster.
What this means for the Broncos depth chart
Rapp is on the practice squad, so he has no direct fantasy football relevance right now. He would need to be elevated or signed to the 53-man roster before any of that changes.
He brings experience, having appeared in 93 career games with 488 tackles, 31 pass breakups, and 12 interceptions. Last season with the Buffalo Bills, a knee injury ended his year after six games and he finished it on injured reserve.
If a safety ahead of him on the Denver depth chart gets hurt, Rapp becomes a name to know. Until then, he is a practice squad depth piece with no roster move required on your end.
