Seahawks Place Rookie NT Deven Eastern on PUP List
The Seattle Seahawks placed rookie nose tackle Deven Eastern on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, per Adam Schefter. Eastern, a seventh-round pick (242nd overall) out of Minnesota in the 2026 NFL Draft, cannot practice to start training camp while on PUP.
What This Means for Eastern
Eastern was already managing a health concern heading into camp. He sat out the last minicamp practice on June 12, and coach Mike Macdonald did not specify the issue but said the situation was "positive for training camp." That optimism aside, he now opens camp on PUP.
Players on PUP can return at any point during camp or the preseason. However, if Eastern is still on the list when rosters are trimmed to 53, he must sit out a minimum of four regular-season games before he is eligible to return.
Roster Outlook Already Difficult
The PUP designation makes an already tough situation harder. The Seahawks interior defensive line room includes Leonard Williams, Jarran Reed, Byron Murphy, Rylie Mills, Brandon Pili, Uso Seumalo, J.R. Singleton, and Bubba Thomas. At least one analyst had already projected Eastern for a practice squad role, noting there was no clear spot for him on the initial 53.
Fantasy Takeaway
Eastern has no meaningful fantasy value right now. He is a depth note at best in IDP leagues. Standard fantasy managers can ignore this move entirely.
