J.J. McCarthy makes Vikings 53-man roster

Despite speculation that he could be traded or released, Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy survived cutdown day and made the 53-man roster, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The news runs counter to a projection from The Athletic's Alec Lewis, who had listed McCarthy as the odd man out of the Vikings' final roster. Schefter's report says otherwise.
