Gibbs, Robinson, and Taylor reset the RB market in one week

Jahmyr Gibbs (RB, Detroit Lions), Bijan Robinson (RB, Atlanta Falcons), and Jonathan Taylor (RB, Indianapolis Colts) all crossed the $20 million per year threshold on new contract extensions within the same week, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Before this stretch, only one running back in the league was earning at that level.

Gibbs got the biggest confirmed number. His three-year extension comes in at $67.5 million base, up to $75.75 million, with $51.5 million guaranteed, per his agent Todd France of Athletes First. That works out to $22.5 million per year. Gibbs had been holding in at Lions practice while extension talks played out, and optimism around a deal had been building after Robinson and Taylor signed earlier in the week.

Exact terms for Robinson and Taylor were not confirmed in available reports at time of writing, but both deals place each player above $20 million per year according to Schefter.
