Dae'Quan Wright waived by Browns, headed back to LSU

Tight end Dae'Quan Wright of the Cleveland Browns has been waived and cleared waivers, with an agreement in place to play for LSU in 2026, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.

Browns head coach Todd Monken summed up the situation simply: "Man, isn't this s--- crazy? I don't even know what to say."

What happened with the Monken-Kiffin story?

Monken had previously said someone at LSU reached out about Wright's availability. That claim got complicated fast. Monken now acknowledges no direct call between him and Kiffin took place. "One of our staff had said that they had gotten a text. I should've followed through with it," Monken said. Kiffin publicly denied the conversation, saying there were "inaccuracies" in Monken's account and that he does not have Monken's number or know him personally.

Wright is off NFL rosters and heading back to college. Drop him if he is somehow on your waiver wire and move on.
