Barkley Family Unharmed, Nothing Taken

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and his family were unharmed after an attempted burglary at their Malvern, Pennsylvania home early Saturday morning, according to the Tredyffrin Township Police Department and Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe.

Officers responded to the home, located in the Main Line area of Chester County, around 5:10 a.m. following reports of a burglary in progress. Tredyffrin Township Police Capt. Tyler Moyer confirmed that at least one of the multiple suspects made it inside the home. By the time police arrived, all suspects had fled the scene.

Investigators believe nothing was taken from the property. Detectives are searching for a white SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon, believed to be connected to the break-in. No arrests have been made. The Chester County District Attorney's Office is assisting with the investigation and is asking the public to review home security footage from around 5:00 a.m. and contact Tredyffrin Township Police with any relevant information.

Part of a Wider Pattern

The incident comes amid a broader wave of break-ins targeting professional athletes' homes. Federal prosecutors charged seven Chilean nationals in February 2025 with burglaries at the homes of NFL and NBA players, including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow. Prosecutors alleged the group specifically targeted athletes who were away or playing in games, and that the suspects stole more than $2 million in cash, jewelry, and valuables. It is not yet known whether Saturday's break-in is connected to that ring.

Fantasy Football Takeaway

There is no fantasy football impact here. Barkley was not injured, and the incident occurred during the offseason training camp period. He heads into 2025 as a top-5 running back after a historic first season in Philadelphia that included 2,000 rushing yards, the Offensive Player of the Year award, and a Super Bowl championship. Nothing about Saturday's events changes his outlook for the upcoming season.
