Matthew Bergeron locks in with Atlanta
Guard Matthew Bergeron and the Atlanta Falcons agreed to a four-year, $96 million contract extension, according to Mike Garafolo and confirmed by Adam Schefter and Jeff Fowler of ESPN. The deal includes $60 million guaranteed and was negotiated by agent Chase Callahan of Excel Football.
Bergeron, 25, was the 38th overall pick in the 2023 draft out of Syracuse. He has started 49 games at left guard across three seasons and is one of the younger starting guards in the league.
What this means for the Falcons offense
Bergeron himself carries no fantasy value. But Atlanta has now locked up multiple pieces of their interior line, with Chris Lindstrom and Jake Matthews also holding extensions. That continuity matters for the players you actually roster.
RB Bijan Robinson (Atlanta Falcons) benefits most directly. A stable, committed offensive line is part of why Robinson has a high floor as a rusher. The Falcons ranked ninth in rushing yards per game (127.0) in 2024, and the line allowed the fifth-lowest opponent pressure rate at 30.4%.

Nothing changes today on your roster because of this signing. But if you were discounting Atlanta's offensive environment heading into 2025, this extension is another signal that the organization is investing in front-line protection. Robinson's outlook stays strong, and whoever lines up at quarterback inherits a well-protected pocket.
