J.J. McCarthy loses Vikings starting QB job to Kyler Murray
J.J. McCarthy, QB, Minnesota Vikings, is no longer the starter. Head coach Kevin O'Connell named Kyler Murray the starting quarterback, bumping McCarthy down the depth chart.
McCarthy made clear he wants to stay in Minnesota regardless. "I think I made it very clear I wanted to be here before I got here. I love this organization. I love the coaching staff. I absolutely love these players to death. This is where I want to be. I feel like I can thrive in this system," he said.
O'Connell backed that up, saying he "absolutely" believes McCarthy still has a future with the Vikings.
What this means for your roster
Murray is the guy to own in Minnesota. McCarthy has backup value only, which makes him a handcuff for Murray managers in dynasty leagues. Drop him in redraft if you were holding him for upside as a starter.
