Jalen Ramsey's knee injury is not serious enough to require surgery, and Steelers GM Omar Khan says the team expects him ready for the 2026 regular season.

Khan made the announcement Tuesday at training camp. The injury happened during mandatory minicamp in June. Khan said the team is "being smart" about easing Ramsey back in and put the timeline at "a couple weeks." His exact quote: "It isn't something where we don't anticipate him being ready for the season."

The news was first reported by @bepryor and amplified by Adam Schefter.

What this means for IDP managers

Ramsey, 31, is a CB and versatile defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In standard redraft formats he has no fantasy value. In IDP leagues he is a legitimate asset after earning a Pro Bowl nod in the 2025 season.

The no-surgery designation combined with Khan's confidence about Week 1 readiness keeps Ramsey's IDP value intact. Missing a couple weeks of camp is unlikely to change his role or production once the season starts.

Steelers secondary depth chart

If you are rostering Ramsey in an IDP league, there is nothing to act on right now. The Steelers have secondary depth in Joey Porter Jr., Jamel Dean, Asante Samuel Jr., and others, so the team is covered during camp. Ramsey is reportedly set to play more slot corner in defensive coordinator Patrick Graham's 2026 scheme, which could affect his tackle and coverage numbers for IDP scoring.

Check his status as training camp progresses. If the "couple weeks" timeline slips, that changes the calculus on his IDP floor entering the season.
