Harrison Smith re-signs with Vikings

Safety Harrison Smith (S, Minnesota Vikings) is coming back for a 15th season in Minnesota. Adam Schefter and Mike Garafolo reported the contract: one year, $12.25M base value, with a max of $16.25M if playoff incentives are hit. The contract was done by Athletes First.

Smith is a six-time Pro Bowler and former All-Pro.

Does this matter for fantasy?

Safeties rarely carry fantasy value outside of IDP formats. Smith's return keeps him on the depth chart in Minnesota, but it does not open or close a role anywhere else. If you play IDP and roster Smith, he stays put. Standard and PPR managers can move on.
