Adam Schefter reports that former Browns center Ethan Pocic is signing a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. Pocic is described as healthy and will have a chance to replace former Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum, who departed in free agency.
Pocic was previously cleared by Dr. Norman Waldrop to participate in training camp, with a source describing him as "full go." Waldrop is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon at Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham and has worked on high-profile cases including Tua Tagovailoa and Derrick Henry.
Pocic tore his Achilles on December 7, 2025, in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Browns placed him on injured reserve two days later. A typical Achilles recovery runs about nine months, so this signing, coming roughly seven months post-injury, speaks to the confidence Baltimore has in his recovery.
Pocic is a 10th-year veteran with 97 career starts. In 2025 he started every game for Cleveland before the injury, logging 826 snaps and allowing just two sacks. Head coach Kevin Stefanski had noted he played 57 games for the Browns over four seasons. He will turn 31 before the 2026 season.
That said, he has missed multiple games in three of the last four seasons, so durability remains a fair concern.
Pocic has zero direct fantasy value as an offensive lineman, but his landing spot matters. Baltimore loses a strong center in Linderbaum, and adding a healthy, experienced replacement helps protect Lamar Jackson and supports the Ravens running game. That has real downstream value for Jackson, Derrick Henry, and Baltimore pass catchers. Monitor how Pocic looks in training camp as a signal for the Ravens offensive line heading into the season.
