D.J. Humphries signs with Washington Commanders

Veteran offensive tackle D.J. Humphries has officially signed with the Washington Commanders on a one-year contract, per Adam Schefter. The signing fills a real need after Washington lost Laremy Tunsil to a torn triceps on Aug. 5.

Humphries has 101 career starts, most of them at left tackle, and made the Pro Bowl after the 2021 season. He steps in as experienced depth on the left side.

Fantasy impact

Humphries does not show up on a fantasy roster, but the offensive line around whoever Washington starts at quarterback and running back matters. A more stable left tackle situation protects the pocket and opens running lanes. If you have Commanders skill players, this is a mild positive for their floor.
