Seahawks DE DeMarcus Lawrence told reporter Jori Epstein (@JoriEpstein) that entering his 13th NFL season, 'this will be my last year.' That quote is on record. What complicates it: research shows Lawrence later described the chances he would retire after Seattle's Super Bowl LX victory as 'very slim,' and sources describe him as committing to a return for 2026.

What Lawrence did in his first Seattle season
Lawrence's year with the Seahawks was productive. He recorded six sacks, 53 tackles, 20 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. Two of those recoveries went back for scores. Seattle won the Super Bowl.
He also had a difficult prior stint with the Cowboys before joining Seattle, a dynamic referenced in Epstein's post.
